Gretchen Wilson is teaming up with ESPN for the sports network's coverage of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
The country star has been tapped to narrate customized openings for the coverage of the ten races. She'll also appear in the teasers, and her music will be featured in the broadcasts. The first race to feature Wilson's opening will air on ESPN on September 15th.
Gretchen says she's excited about the partnership. She explains that many of her fans are also NASCAR fans, and she's "honored to be a part of this great American tradition."
Wilson adds that she's also a racing fan. She says she fell in love with the sport as a child through her uncle, who operated dirt tracks in the St. Louis area. Gretchen recalls that he would let her "clean the mud out of the wheel wells with a two-by-four," and she felt like she was "part of the pit crew."
