REVIEW: Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

This is one of those "What happens when fairy tales grow up and get even." type of flicks. First of all with the success of shows like "Once Upon A Time" retelling fairy tales being all the rage right now and if you like that kind of thing it may be right up your alley.

Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker, Bourne Identity 4, Mission Impossible)  as Hansel and his  sister Gretel played by British Actress Gemma Arterton  (Quantum Of Solace, Prince Of Persia, Clash Of The Titans) we're both very good and decent to look at, according to my daughter Natasha.  The 3-D to me wasn't the greatest BUT people leaving the theater said it was good.

Storyline was weak, but the action sequences make up for it.  That's what you're going for on this flick.  The two highlights of the film were the character of the giant Troll who rescues Gretel (Derek Mears, with voice by Robin Atkin Downes) and the white witch played by Pihla Viitala an actress from Finland.

2 stars - It's fun, funny and in some cases sexy, but lacks in story.
