» Randy Travis Update: A stroke and surgery to relieve pressure on Randy Travis' brain are the latest turns in the singer's recent health scare, cutting short hopes he was improving. "We are very thankful to the fans for their love and support during this time," Travis said via a press statement Tuesday (7/9). Contrary to reports, he had not undergone heart surgery after being admitted to a Texas hospital Sunday (7/7) for viral cardiomyopathy. "His condition has stabilized and he has shown signs of improvement," Dr. Michael Mack said in a video statement from Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. Wednesday, however, news of the stroke resulting from congestive heart failure complications renewed the worries of those in the country community. He remains in critical condition. Cards and well wishes can be sent to: Randy Travis, 266 Blanks Road, Tioga, Texas 76271.
