» Carol Of The Beards: The upcoming Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas album may bring to mind the kazoo-like squawks of duck calls belting out the melody to "Frosty The Snowman," but don't be alarmed. Professionals are involved. Luke Bryan, George Strait, Josh Turner and Alison Krauss are among the experienced country crooners helping out the Duck Dynasty crew. Songs include "Christmas Cookies" (Strait with Phil and Kay Robertson), "Hairy Christmas" (Bryan with Willie, Phil, Si, Jase and Jep Robertson) and "Why I Love Christmas" (Turner with Missy Robertson). And don't miss Uncle Si's reading of "Night Before Christmas," as written by Willie. It'll put hair on your face.


» Done Deal: When Toronto Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia popped the question to The Band Perry's Kimberly Perry, he made her childhood dreams come true by proposing under the oak tree in her family's Greeneville, TN front yard. The baller had one of his own come true, as well, having scored a backstage meet-and-greet with the singer after being smitten by her in the "If I Die Young" video. "In the immortal words of Anne Of Green Gables – this makes up for every unfulfilled dream we ever contemplated," Perry tells us.




» Heavy Metal: A country duo rapping in front of a hard rock band. That's about the best way to describe Florida Georgia Line's tour, which opened Thursday in South Dakota (10/3). Fans and music industry pros were invited to a preview of their first major headlining tour in Nashville earlier this week, and Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard had an announcement: A deluxe edition of their debut album titled Here's To The Good Times ... This Is How We Roll will be released Nov. 25. The original edition is already certified platinum for sales exceeding one million copies.

» Down Came A Blackbird: Martina McBride and her husband John have launched sound-engineering school The Blackbird Academy with its inaugural six-month Studio Engineering program. TBA utilizes the couple's Blackbird Studio in Nashville and offers programs for studio and live-sound engineering. Enrollment for 2014 is underway here. In other news, McBride's Team Martina recently raised $27,000 to build a playground for children of all abilities and needs in Atlanta. The effort culminated in a gathering for top fundraisers prior to Martina's Sept. 28 performance in the city; watch a highlight video here.
